Founded in 2019, Ajo delivers good, clean, simple food inspired by the unique flavors and colorful cultures of the Caribbean islands. As a small business, we want to feed you the same way we feed our own family, with delicious food that evolved from family recipes, made from wholesome ingredients.
Our first restaurant, nana, opened in 2009 and was a pioneer of responsibly sourced and seasonally inspired food here in Bridgeport.
We believe what and how we eat directly effects our health and the well-being of our community and our environment. This is why we remain committed to our local food partners, our from-scratch method of preparing food and our sustainable business practices that began back in 2009.
